- $25 per overnight. That means if you drop off on Saturday morning, and pick up Sunday afternoon, the fee is still $25
- 2 or more dogs in the same family - $20/dog per night
- The 11th night is free, and every 5th night after that is free as well (i.e. the 11th, 16th, 21st night, etc.) The longer you stay, the more discount you receive.
Hours of Operation:
all drop offs, pick ups, and visits are by appointment only - you must call ahead to set up your time!!
My business is a small, family run operation. I will accept dogs (or send them home) as early as 7am, and as late in the evening as 8pm. But, I DO go to the grocery store, have occasional appointments and even go out to dinner. I need to know when you are coming so I am sure that someone will be here to receive you. I allow drop off and pick up ALL days of the year (yes, even Sunday!) EXCEPT Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve afternoon and Christmas day, New Years Eve afternoon and New Years day, and Easter. I am sometimes very tightly scheduled, so being on time for your appointed time is a real help!
Helpful Info:
My preference is that each dog bring the food they are used to eating at home. This is the best thing for the dog, since boarding can be stressful anyway, and adding a sudden change of diet can be very upsetting - both mentally AND physically. If you choose not to bring the dogs own food, I do have available an organic kibble that I will use. Any supplements or medications are to be supplied by the owner - there is no extra charge for special diets or giving medications. In fact, there is no extra charge for anything! I do not believe in "nickel and dimeing" you to death. Your fee includes everything - playtime, giving meds, special meals - everything! I will have several forms for you to fill out when you arrive -one (the permanent contact information and waiver) is available below - you can print it out, fill it out and sign it before you come to save time - then bring it with you. The other form is one that I fill out for each dog, each time it comes to me, and consists of info pertaining only to that trip. Here is the Waiver and Permanent Contact Information Form in MS Word format
Here is a Checklist of Things to Bring with You:
- Your Dog's Normal Food - unless you choose to have me feed the kibble I have here.
- Emergency Contact Information For You - cell number, or hotel or travel numbers where you can be reached while you're gone.
- A Copy of your Current, up to Date Rabies Certificate - This is a MUST! All other vaccinations necessary are to be determined by you and your vet, as this varies greatly from vet to vet. Distemper and Parvo titers are acceptable as proof of protection from disease.
- Kennel Cough (bordetella) Vaccine Requirements are also to be Determined by Your Vet and You - but if your dog has been given it - bring along a copy
- All Supplements or Medications Your Dog is Taking - CLEARLY labeled
- A Bed or Blanket that Smells Like You and Home - This is optional - for some dogs it is helpful to keep stress at a minimum - for others, it really isn't necessary. I do have beds here!
- I do have a Fridge - for any dogs who are eating home cooked or raw diets, or need any food kept cold - no problem! For longer stays, there is also freezer space available.
Here is What I DON'T Need:
- Toys - these tend to get stolen by the other dogs, and destroyed. I don't want your dog's favorite toy to go missing! I have lots of indestructible things to play with, that won't cause harm if ingested.
- Bowls - I have clip in bowls that hook inside each pen
- Leashes - My yard is securely fenced, and the doggie room opens directly into the yard, so I won't be leashwalking anyone! I tend to forget to give these back, so keep them with you!
- Training collars, or Slip collars- I CAN NOT, for safety reasons, let your dog play, or be unattended in their pens with any kind of choke or slip collar. It is simply too dangerous, and can cause serious injury or even death. Choke or training collars should be used ONLY while a leash is attached and a human is on the other end. A plain buckle collar (not slip type) with some identification is a great idea, though!
- I DON'T need a 40 pound bag of dog food if your dog is only going to be with me for the weekend!! Enough to last the duration of their stay in a baggie or tupperware will do just fine!
